So am happy to say I’ve successfully moved all of my Websites to a new VPS with HostUS.
HostUS.us are specialists in providing high quality VPSs from a few locations globally. The bulk of their servers are located in the US including Charlotte, Washington DC, Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles. They also have locations in Europe (London and the Netherlands) and in the Far East (Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia). With the first build of my VPS I had requested Charlotte, North Carolina location, as not only was it a new location, but HostUS’s new default location; I was curious to know whether the speed would be greater than what I received when I previously had a VPS from their Dallas, Texas location. Here are the specs of the VPS:

This was the speed of the VPS on 6 November 2017 when I first took occupation of it. Note although it says Atlanta – I’ve been told by HostUS that it is Charlotte:
Compared with the Texas location that I had with my HostUS VPSs in 2016, the speed was greater, however as time went on my ISP started to have networking issues – ping went up to 37 ms at times and the speed kept fluctuating in huge peaks and valleys. The experience was not as smooth as I’d previously had with the Dallas location. This was the result of a speed test on 30 November 2017.
Roll on to 13 January 2018 and regrettably HostUs experienced a one in a million double disk failure that caused my VPS to go up in smoke. Although an unforseen disaster, the event did work in my favour though. When the VPS had to be reprovisioned I had an opportunity to ask for a change of location to London. This turned into an awesome VPS experience. Speed improved greatly, and Ping went right down to 3 ms – looks as though my ISP is very happy with the London location – latency is perfect. Speed with working with the WordPress Dashboard and uploading Plugins is super fast. And as per usual HostUs knows how to provide VPSs that are beautifully put together. I’m a very happy HostUs VPS owner.
