Still chugging along 2022!

So haven’t been with my Websites or with my VPS in a long time.  Last time I checked my domains was in February 2022.  I’m back again on 7 July 2022 and so much has changed again in my VPS.  For BIG starters my IP changed.  It already changed back in April 2022 so maybe that was a blessing, as it meant that all my WP sites on the VPS had been safe.  So of course all I needed to do – so I thought – was to change the IP in my Name Servers, but looks as though VestaCP had died as well.  So for sure, none of my Websites had been alive since beginning of April 2022.

First thing I had to do was to go into my trusted HostUS VPS Account and found that a simple reboot didn’t work.  I couldn’t access the VPS.  I then went about rebuilding the VPS with CentOS 7.0.  Then loaded VestaCP, and woe behold, not only did the panel look differentt, but it didn’t work at all.  So I guess VestaCP – the original version – must have had a remake, and something is not working.  I then went to one of the forks which I had used before, which is MyVestaCP, however the one I favour only works with Debian.  So back to Debian Debian 10 was still OK to use with MyVestaCP.  More about this later.  Long story short, I finally got this site to work and is up and running.

So one of the first things I do after rebuilding the VPS is to check the speed, and this has to be impossible:

How is that possible?  Any way, it is fast enough.  Everything in the VPS works well, so no complaints.  I think my only limits must be the speed of my ISP.  Which since last working with my VPS has been downgraded by myself.  More about that later too.

Needless to say, my HostUS trusted VPS will be renewed for sure.  It’s up for renewal at the end of this month.
