So I’ve been quite busy with many projects and was unable to get to my baby VPS with HostUS. During the course of Covid-19 I noticed my Website was down, but wasn’t taking that particularly serious. I thought that a good day would come, and it would turn out to be a Vesta issue as per usual with one of the servers that need to be rebooted. Roll on to 15 October, and it was something much more serious. With a question mark behind it, but not of lethal proportion. I suspect it must have been the upgrade from OpenVZ 6 to 7. When I checked up on VestaCP with SSH, it would appear that the hard disk of the VPS was maxed out at 19.5 GB. Which was near impossible.
Long story short. I immediately reinstalled the OS to reformat the VPS, and then a next problem occurred with being locked out of SSH. I kept at it though, reinstalled an earlier distribution of CentOS, and strangely enough that at least sorted out the SSH access issue. Took a little while, and everything is running as good, if not better than before. I was able to close the ticket I’d created with HostUS myself.
Hopefully everything will be good now for a while. But me thinks this blog needs a little bit of tender loving care.
