Great HostUS experience!

Looks as though destiny always works in mysterious ways.  I won a second VPS – VPS 15 during the October 2017 VPS Giveaway, but then the Giveaway Manager couldn’t figure out how to create HostUS VPSs for the members. I was quite gung-ho and impatient to try out the VPS 15, as when I competed for it, I discovered that HostUS had a new default location – Charlotte, New Carolina.  Previously it was Dallas, Texas.  When I pinged the Charlotte Looking Glass it was faster relative to my ISP than Dallas, Texas.  I was eager to try it out so I could see how fast the VPS was in comparison with the previous ones I’d had with HostUS.

So instead of waiting longer I decided to subscribe with HostUS instead.  I went for their cheap package that is just above their smallest package.  Here are the specs for the package I subscribed to:

OVZ-768

768MB RAM
768MB vSwap
20GB Disk Space
1 vCPU Core (Fair Share)
500GB Bandwidth
1Gbps port
1x IPv4 address
4x IPv6 addresses
OpenVZ / Breeze Control Panel

Price: $7.95 for three months

The smallest VPS on offer if 512MB RAM for $5.95 for three months.

I previously had a VPS by subscription from HostUS in 2016, just after I had joined FreeVPS.us.  At the time I had serious payment problems, as somehow the third party HostUS was using to process the payments had marked me as fraud and every payment after that was a nightmare.  However this time round the signup and payment were done in two minutes – if that.  Total brilliant experience in comparison.  My VPS was set up within 30 minutes of that and I was able to access my Panel for the VPS and the VPS effortlessly.

I’m now waiting for the name servers of my domain for the VPS to propagate before I’ll be working on the VPS.  So watch this space for the progress that is made.
